Facitlities
Ezulwini lodge is personally managed for over 15 years by the owners, Joshua and
Corne van Straaten, family of one of the pioneers in the area.
The lodge is situated
on 300ha of private game property. The sand-forests contribute to the variety of
bird life around the lodge. The indigenous garden has a variety of vegetation including
the Lala palm used for basket weaving, the Marula tree which fruits are a favourite
of monkeys.
The lodge offers for your relaxation a lounge area (with television),
dining room, bar, sparkling pool and boma – where you could simply enjoy the sounds
of nature around a blazing log fire.
Secure parking is available, suitable for buses
and large coaches as well.
The facilities are for the sole use of lodge guests and
their visitors only.
Bedrooms are serviced twice daily.
Unfortunately credit cards are
not accepted.
Accounts to be settled in advance or with cash on arrival.

Restaurant
Meals are a feast of traditional tastes. Health-conscious guests or special dietary
requirements are catered for.
An unhurried breakfast is the prelude to a day of
abundant discovery.
A buffet breakfast offers a selection of cereals, fruits, yoghurts,
breads, eggs and bacon.
Light lunches are served on request.
Dinner is served buffet
style, with a selection of fresh vegetables and salads, superior meat and delectable
desserts. Coffee and tea around the quiet intimacy of a campfire are a perfect conclusion
to the day (campfire is lit if weather permits).

Bar
The bar opens daily at 15:00. Pre-dinner drinks in the fully stocked bar will introduce
you to South Africa's traditional liquors, beer and a selection of wines.

Activities on property
Leisure options on the property include an enticing pool, a scenic wildlife walk
or a nature drive.
The unspoilt nature trails bring unrestricted encounters with
the small pleasures that is Africa - the sun's warm embrace, the rich smell of soil,
unspoilt sweeping grasslands, intriguing insects, the sounds of birds and antelope,
while zebra and giraffe grazes nearby. The property does not host dangerous wildlife
like lion, buffalo or rhino, but is home to the scarce suni and red duiker.
Birding
highlights include the pink throated twinspot and the beautiful nariina trogen.
Big 5 safaris depart from the lodge into the Hluhluwe/Umfolozi game reserve daily.
Weather
The climate is sub-tropical with warm temperatures, humidity and sunshine throughout
the year. Summer is between October and March. Winters are mild. The best time to
visit is between March and August. Average daily summer temperatures are from 20
- 35ºC .
